China's first LED backlit LCD TV developed by Hisense unveiled at at the Las Vegas CES Exhibition.
As predicted by some experts, the application of LED backlighting technology in LCD TVs will lead a new trend for flat-panel TVs. Globally, there are only five enterprises using large-size LED backlight modules and Hisense is not only one of these five, but it's the only one in China
Energy-saving and environment-friendly the Hisense developed LED backlit 42in (106cm) LCD is viewed as essential in today's electronics industry.
LED backlighting offers faster response of images displayed and provides richer and more vibrant colours as well as superior black and white contrast when comparing to conventional LCD TV's using CCFL backlighting.
In order to conserve energy this model applies a dynamic backlight controlling technology which adapts automatically to pictures displayed on the LCD screen. Therefore, with a minimum use of 50 watts, the power consumption decreases by more than 30 percent, while its service life can reach 100,000 hours (10 hours per day for over 20 years).
As well as conserving energy the chasis on this model is made from material that is in compliant with RoHs and is recyclable. Unlike other LCD Models this model elimates radiation, lead, mercury, and other toxic materials creating an environmentally responsible product for todays market.
Hisense Australia is planning release of this model and technology in 2009
